Bell Canopies

Modular acoustic canopies customized to the noise source may be position on the generator base or concrete floor,
quieting to 50-75 dB(A) at a distance of seven meters, even for generators with a power output of 100-3,000 KVA. We also
have a range of acoustic canopies to reduce the noise level of 55-85 dB(A) at the same distance.

The prominent characteristic of a bell canopy is that it can handle and/or silence and/or quiet current noise hazards of
machinery and heavy tools that are an integral part of the production lines and/or are critical for daily work at your
business, without the need to dismantle and more them. An Orkal bell canopy will make it possible to continue regular
work and output without disruption or delays throughout the canopy’s construction. This feature is an important and
significant advantage that saves the business owner precious time and costs.

Production is undertaken at our plan pursuant to the signed acoustic plan received from the customer. The canopy is sent
for installation only after a series of tests and acoustic measurements, and certified by the production line manager
and the department’s chief acoustic engineer. If there is no relevant acoustic plan, you may contact the Orkal expert
consultants department and benefit from consultancy services that include noise measurements, drawing conclusions from
the findings, creating solutions, and preparing acoustic plans by a skilled professional team of expert engineers who
have the valuation knowledge and years of experience in designing acoustic and insulation solutions.

Our acoustic canopies conform to the strictest standards required by law:

  • Orkal has ISO 9001 standard for the manufacture of canopies and special silencers for generators
  • Orkal has Standards Institution of Israel certification SI 755 – Fires in rooms
  • The canopies are tested and certified by a certified laboratory pursuant to standard ISO 7235 – silencers
  • Hoist hooks are certified by an inspector engineer
  • Fuel tanks have standard UL 142 certification
  • All auxiliary materials conform to the strictest fire standards
  • The canopies are adapted and precisely designed to prevent damage and enable the generator’s proper functioning
  • An ambient temperature range of up to 50 degrees

Characteristics of canopy materials and structure:

  • The canopy’s metal structure will be made from 2-5 mm thick galvanized sheets, which enable many years of work
  • continuity in exposed locations exposed to corrosion and near the sea
  • The galvanized metal canopy and axes are painted by AFC technology at a high temperature in a kiln
  • Powder paints are made from pure polyester with extraordinary properties in tough environments against corrosion,
  • solar radiation, and dust, able to withstand blows, and no exposure to rust

Canopy design:

  • The canopies are designed and adapted for a temperature range +50°, 100% power output without heating the diesel and spaces
  • The canopy design takes into account all the generator particulars, including engine model, continuous KVA output, overall weight, radiator size, heat generation in KW, airflow, airflow for burning, permitted pressure flow mmWG, exhaust pressure flow mmLTG, and required noise level
  • Uncompromising design and precision performance for maximum use of the unit in normal times and emergencies while protecting the diesel lifespan
  • The canopy has service doors on every side to provide easy access for servicing and maintenance to all parts of the diesel generator. There is also an access door to the control panel’s gauges and commands.
  • The sides, doors, and ceiling of the canopy have an interior fire-resistant acoustic absorbent coating/galvanize aluminum mesh, rock wool
  • The air intake and outtake vents and all the cooling vents of the diesel generator will be designed and installed in a way that will not affect its performance and power output during operations
  • The gauges panel and canopy are sealed against rainwater and resistant to solar radiation and machinery vibrations during the diesel generator’s operation
  • All of the canopy’s interior materials are resistant to motor heat, fuel, oil, oil vapors, water, and gas emissions
  • All of the canopy’s exterior materials are resistant to dampness, fuel, oil, heat, and fire pursuant to standard LSK.U 1988 no. 1324 or equivalent standard
  • Work hours, extreme environmental conditions, and VU influence

Emissions system characteristics:

  • Active and reactive silencer system sill installed on the units to abate up to 40 decibels without affecting the
  • functioning of the diesel and its performance
